There is a lot happening in the tablet market at the present time and it seems all the big players of Netbooks and Laptop PC manufacturers are determined to focus in this stiff competitive market. With companies like Apple, Asustek, Dell, Samsung, Olive etc. already in, this time it was the turn for ViewSonic to unveil its plans to launch their own tablet devices which they proudly calls ViewPad. According to reports, they are willing to offer two editions of their ViewPad which will individually sport a 7-inch and a 10-inch versions.

The 7-inch tablet which is planned to be rolled out within the year end will be having a 800x480 WVGA LCD touch capacitive screen and having many other features like 3.5G, 10 hours of battery life, 3MP(P) and 1.3MP(S) camera, WiFi and will support upto 32GB of expandable memory. It will be based on the Android 2.2 a.k.a Froyo and will be having a very sleek and light weight form factor.

ViewSonic Team said the following few lines in support of their ViewPad 7.
"It will be the ultimate device for connected fun and multitasking — in a compact size easier to carry than a netbook and with better media performance than a smartphone.”

On the other hand, the 10-inch version of the ViewPad will support a capacitive multi touch screen at a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels display. It will be bundled with a 1GB memory, 16GB SSD and a 1.3MP camera to name a few. Powered by Intel Atom 1.66 GHz processor, the 10-inch ViewPad will be based on either an Android or Windows OS. The ViewSonic team described the ViewPad 10 with the following words:-
"The ViewPad 10 is ideally designed to view Flash-based content and Office programs with Windows and for an optimized mobile entertainment experience with Android."

Keeping into consideration some of the great performance by ViewSonic during the last 25 years, it would be worthwhile to anticipate some good service from them in their upcoming tablets i.e. the ViewPad 7 and the ViewPad 10.
