Acer has unveiled a new laptop which stands as their "concept device" bearing two screens which they believe will be the future trend of laptop computing. Having a single screen in a laptop is quite a normal fact as it is the way things go when we speak about such devices, but this time Acer has brought into existence its new laptop or rather a Touchbook namely 'Acer Iconia' which has a second display screen at the a position where normally the keyboard exits. It is one of the much attractive gadget that the tech-savvy geeks may be interested upon, but its adoration from the common masses and average users may be a big question as the same would not be a simple approach of handling two screens - one for output display and the other touch capacitive screen for input and navigation purpose.

The Acer Iconia has two almost equivalent sized capacitive touch screens having a screen resolution of 1366×768 pixels. It is powered by a Core i5 processor and have some good built-in specifications which includes a 4GB of DDR3 RAM, dedicated graphics card, 2.5″ HDD with storage capacity upto 750GB, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0 which are a few among the known features of the Acer Iconia Touchbook. The touch screen also features the unique Acer Ring control Interface which facilitates the use of all the five fingers on the screen to offer gesture controls and to launch any application by scrolling and tapping on it. This seems quite futuristic and is mostly noticeable in science fiction movies but now Acer has been able to bring it live with many other touch features as well like Gesture Editor, Virtual keyboard, TouchBrowser, TouchPhoto, SocialJogger, My Journal, Scrapbook, TouchMusic and TouchVideo.

It weighs around 2.5 kg and has a 14-inch form factor. It is powered by a 4-cell battery which can last for approximately three hours of use. Additionally, it also includes an Acer Crystal Eye webcam, one USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports, S/PDIF interface along with VGA and HDMI ports. This hybrid dual screen device which is a combination of a notebook and a tablet collectively termed as a Touchbook comes preloaded with the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS as what has been indicated in their official announcement.
