India has received its own Rupee Symbol on 15th of July, 2010 and has been able to make its presence felt among other currencies of Foreign Countries which already had its own long time ago. This new symbol is actually a blend of the Devanagri 'Ra' and Roman 'R'. The newly designed Indian Rupee symbol is now used by most of the people and has witnessed great acclamation and adoration from various directions. People are seen to prefer this new symbol in their documents rather than the abbreviation (Rs. or INR) as was used earlier. But some of the folks never managed to use the symbol properly as the same is not available in the existing keyboards and also the required font was missing from the font library as it did not come by default with any operating system or other third-party drivers and softwares. So, in order to make that work in you computer you have to follow certain steps and make some changes for being able to use it in your computer. Installing and Using New Rupee Symbol in Microsoft Office Word


In order to make the new rupee symbol work under Microsoft Office Word in your Windows Operating System, you may consider the following few steps which are mentioned as below:-

  1. First of all you will need the font file which must be installed into your computer to make it work under your word processor.   2. After download of the font file is complete, you may need to install the same into your computer. This is very simple and requires no expertise to accomplish it. To do so, simply open the Control Panel of the Windows Operating System and go to the Font folder listed there. Alternatively, you can also double-click on the font file and then click on 'Install' button to install it but there may be some problem for few people using this method and hence the previous one may come handy for such cases.
