NVIDIA GeForce 500 Mobile GPU Series is finally ready to make its entry into the market which is believed to debut on the Acer Laptops. According to reports from Engadget, the said NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M GPU is to be featured in the Acer Aspire 4741G and is expected to launch on January 2011. The GeForce GT 540M will be having the similar specs with that of the 400M series. It has got the 96 CUDA cores and supports a memory interface of 128-bit along with other common specs like DirectX 11 Support, 3D Vision, PhysX, CUDA, Optimus etc. The Graphics Clock is set to be of 672MHz while the Processor Clock and the Memory Clock is maintained at 1344MHz and 900 MHz respectively. It can support memory upto 1.5GB which are of GGD5 or DDR3 VRAM.

"With GeForce GT 540M, we are taking an already proven architecture and using the maturity of the manufacturing process to create GPUs with higher clock settings while staying in the same power envelope," Nvidia explains. "As a result, the GeForce GT 540M delivers a significant increase in fill-rate and memory bandwidth, which ultimately translates to better overall performance."

This GPU chip is scheduled to reaching the global market only after a month's time but the same will be available to Chinese markets with the Acer Laptops immediately. The Aspire 4741G which is expected to be the first notebook to have the GPU available will be having a good technical specification and will be powered by an Intel Core i5-480M processor. In addition to it, there will be a 4GB RAM, upto 650GB Hard Disk Drive, Blu-ray drive and an impressive 14-inch screen to name a few of its known specifications.
