The Chief Executive of Apple Inc., Steve Jobs today unveiled the much awaited iPad 2 in an event at San Francisco. There were much speculation regarding the launch and arrival of this next version of the popular tablet device from Apple and this announcement has undoubtedly relieved all those folks who have been so far entertained only by rumor reports and user predictions. However, as it is now been made official we have some reliable informations which states that this new product will be thinner than its previous version by around 33% and would also weigh less than it by up to 0.2lb.


It has got some new set of technical specifications so as to ensure enhanced performance and extended capabilities. The iPad 2 is now being powered by a dual-core A5 processor which provides faster performance as opposed to the A4 processor being used by its predecessor. It even ensures that the graphics renders faster to around nine times than that of the existing iPad and hence promises great visual output and user experience. Despite having a high speed processor, the battery life remains same at a standard 10 hours usage capacity and 30 days of standby time.

The Apple iPad 2 is said to be offered in two choices of colors which are that of white and black. It can be availed from both the popular carriers i.e. AT&T and Verizon Wireless and the same is scheduled for shipping to the stores in US from the 11th day of March, 2011. The scheduled date of shipment to other countries is said to start from 25.03.2011 which ranges to more than 24 different countries.

The price of Apple iPad 2 is same as that of the existing one and the cost is intended to start from 499USD onwards to 829USD depending on which variant is opted for out of Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi plus 3G variant which in turn can be distinguished further in terms of its memory capacity of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
