ATI Radeon HD 6850 is a second generation high performance graphics card which belongs to the Radeon HD 6000 series. It uses the visual acceleration technology of AMD EyeSpeed to deliver fast and high quality performance in a Desktop PC. It has a 1GB GDDR5 memory that works at a bandwidth of 128Gbps and is clocked at 1000MHz. It is made up of a double slot form factor and have a PCI Express Bus interface of 2.1 x16. It supports the DirectX 11 with Shader Model 5.0 and DirectCompute 11 together with the OpenGL 4.1 support. It is configured to support full 3D display including Stereoscopic, Blu-ray, and other middleware 3D software.


The maximum resolution of ATI Radeon HD 6850 while using the HDMI 1.4a is 1920x1200, Dual-link DVI with HDCP is 2560x1600 and the maximum resolution with that of VGA is 2048x1536. The supported audio formats are that of AAC, AC-3, DTS Master and Dolby TrueHD and can work with 7.1 channel surround sound using HDMI.
