Eventhough the latest released version of KDE package for Windows is still under the various stages of development, it can be readily used to install various KDE based apps within the Windows operating system but then again, you cannot rely on it for your primary day-to-day task as various features may not be totally compatible as yet. In other words, you can't use it for production work as of now and this version is simply a kind of beta release meant for testing purpose.

- Phonon-VLC backend is added as the default backend and is said to be stable for daily use as no crash or other bugs have been detected. Apart from this, there also exist mingw-w32, GCC, vc90, vc100, Visual Studio 2010 EE and many other tools.
So with this release, it is expected that the level of contribution and the participation in the various development tasks would increase as the Windows users can easily work with it to be familiar with the different working procedures and other facts relating to the KDE environment. Since, Windows still holds the lion's share among the Operating Systems used worldwide, the afore mentioned package can help the Linux based operating systems to gain attention and be considered by the global computer users and hopefully adopt it for their different purpose.
