Microsoft in its Press Release has already confirmed the release date which is scheduled to be on November 15, 2010. Kevin Unangst, who is the senior global director for PC and Mobile Gaming has quoted the following few lines in its Press Release in support of this announcement made by Microsoft.
"With Games for Windows Marketplace, we set out to create a digital store built for PC gamers end-to-end. And by integrating with our existing Xbox LIVE and Windows Live services, we’ve made it easier than ever for millions of gamers to see for themselves how easy buying PC games can be."
Games for Windows Market Place : Key Features
Some of the most common features that they are willing to offer with this new service are:-
It will allow online access thorough their highly optimized web store to facilitate high speed downloading for purchased games. Like most other online stores of other brands, it would also allow one to re-download another copy of their purchased game whenever they wishes to.
- They will be offering some of the best deals by giving away various discounts on purchase of the games which will also include offers on some special events also including the Deal of the Week.
- They have made some good arrangements to filter and organize the games according to titles, publishers, genre etc. Hence, one can easily find their favourite game through the search feature that would include the option to filter their search according to their requirements.
Finally, they have come up with a very user friendly interface thereby making it much more enjoyable and fun to navigate around the various pages and other features available therein.

Since it is a new initiative by Microsoft, it would definitely require some time to increase the availability of game titles under its shelf.
