Asustek, the Taiwan based company has recently announced that it will be offering many new models of latest tablet PCs starting from January, 2011. As all other companies and brands already making their presence in the tablet industry, Asustek is all set to join the race among the best selling tablet devices. After Apple has launched its iPad, we have seen many brands coming forward with new tablet designs and innovative features, each competing each other and trying to takeover the dominance in the tablet market.

The Asustek tablets, which is to bear the banner name EeePad Tablets will be trying some new approach and will be featuring both the Windows based OS and also that of the Android category. While the former is targeted to make entry during the Q1 2011, the later may take some time and may lead to the Q2 or Q3 of 2011. All these devices will sport a 7-, 10- or 12-inch panels. The 12-inch model will feature a Wintel platform having advanced touch controls and user interface which are duly developed by Asustek in close collaboration with Microsoft.

The 7- and 10-inch models that are planned for the Q2 2011 will have support for Wi-Fi, 3.5G and ARM-based Nvidia Tegra 2 platform which will be placed on both the Wintel and the Android OS.

Jerry Shen, the company president had quoted that the year 2011 would be one of the busiest year for them and that they are ready to set a competitive trend in the industry by making available a wide range of tablet PCs during the next 12 months.
