Sony Ericsson has recently unveiled the Xperia Arc which is one of the most attractive android phone that boast a stylish and slim form factor while also offering a number of premium features. It is a touchscreen phone that sports an impressive 4.2-inch Reality display which includes the Mobile BRAVIA Engine and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor. It looks classy with it slim and light-weight design which measures merely 8.7mm and is polished to provide a visually appealing appearance.

The Sony Xperia Arc also bears an ergonomic design for providing a firm and comfortable grip and is also strongly built to offer durability for day-to-day use. It comes along with the Android 2.3 a.k.a Gingerbread operating system and all other speculations and rumours regarding the probability of the Arc getting the Android 2.4 is officially dropped down saying that it was nothing but a a simple 'misconfiguration'. It has got Adreno 205 as the GPU specs while the audio configuration includes an equalizer and 10 genre based presets into it.


It also includes a couple of microphones as opposed to a single one which is intended to offer noise suppression during an active phone call. There exist an 8MP camera which is having the Exmor R sensors and allows recording images and videos in high definition quality. There is however no front facing camera which most of you may not be comfortable with as the same is expected for making video calls etc. It includes an LED Flash along with the rear camera which facilitates four modes where it can be set to either Off or Auto and Fill-flash or Red-eye Reduction.

The internal built-in memory is said to be 512MB while it can be further expanded up to a maximum capacity of around 32GB using either a microSD or microSDHC card. The connectivity specs includes Bluetooth v2.1, WiFi, USB 2.0, HDMI Out, DLNA and 3.5mm audio jack. Some other technical specifications includes sensors like Accelerometer and Compass, Personal Information Management tools including Barcode Reader, web based service such as Facebook, Picasa, Twitter and other common features of modern smartphones. It uses a 1500 mAh battery which provides Stand-by time around 430 hours while a talktime of around 6.91 hours. It has a dimension measuring 125 x 63 x 8.7 mm and weighs about only 117g.

The availability of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is expected to be within the month of March 2011 and the same is being mentioned as Q1 2011. The price of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc in India and rest of the word is not yet announced but an official announcement in this regard is expected soon.
