Sony has officially announced two of its most anticipated tablet device which is said to be both Honeycomb powered Android Tablet and they are all set to make entry into this highly trended gadget market later this year. As of now, Sony has made available a public preview of the prototype of both the device which are accordingly named as S1 and S2 and has different configuration and technical specifications to offer. Both of them has some unique characteristics and the most attractive feature that Sony has facilitated in one of them is that of the dual screen support in the S2 model. Besides this, there are many more standard specs that they both have in themselves which we will be discussing below.

Sony S1 is a media tablet that has a large 9.4-inch touch screen and makes use of a customized version of "Quick and Smooth" touch panel. It comes powered with the latest Tegra 2 chipset and also sports dual cameras that are positioned at the front and the rear side of the device. The touch panel is very accurate and responsive and you can get things done with a single swipe or tap into the navigation and icons present therein. It may look a bit bulky in size but the way it is designed, you would love to carry it along as it provides a very comfortable grip to handle it on both landscape and portrait view and is also light at weight than what would have been generally expected from a device of such dimension. It has got infrared connectivity among many other options and this is meant specially for making use of the S2 Media tablet as a remote to handle the Sony Gear.

A "Swift" web browser is said to be included which works like a charm on the touch panel and working with it will definitely be a wonderful experience. The wedge shaped design of the S1 honeycomb tablet looks more like a magazine than a tablet and hence looks different than most other devices of its kind. There are many more things to look for in this gadget and almost all standard specs like WiFi, DLNA, third generation & 4th generation mobile network connectivity etc. are made available and it also is a PlayStation certified device which means more mobile entertainment while on the move.

Sony S2 is a very unique piece of Android tablet that does not resemble any other such device which is currently available in the market today. Having a rather large or more precisely bulky clamshell design, it can actually fit the inner jacket pocket with ease and this is what Kunimasa Suzuki did when he took it out for public preview. You can have a glimpse of it in the video embedded below and also from the posters as mentioned in this post. It has dual screen and each of them measures 5.5-inch which has a screen resolution of around 1,024 x 480 pixel. It has a very customized interface to work around with the different features and apps and can be used effectively for many purposes including e-reading, playing games, emails and lots more. Its design specially assist in providing a lot of convenience and also provides a real working experience due to its both screens which feels like reading a real book when using the e-reader app or playing games just like a handheld with the display on top and PlayStation game controls on the second screen.

So, there are many special features to actually expect from this two innovative product from Sony and one can hope for new usable features from these android tablets. What you have seen so far in the video or the pictures are only that of the prototype and the real device is said to be under production and may be introduced in the market towards the later half of this year. The price of Sony S1 and S2 Honeycomb tablet is yet to be announced and may most likely be placed between $650 to $850 price tag approximately but nothing is confirmed so far from any of its official sources.
